January 6, 2010 - 16 weeks pregnant

Well today marks 16 weeks of pregnancy and I am feeling pretty good! Slept in a little this morning and worked from the house due to the snow and my doctor's appt. I got so much more done here than I ever do at the office plus it was so quiet! My appt. was at 3.00p. Nothing major during the appt. I lost 5 pounds since December 2, my last appt. My doc didn't mention it so I assume she isn't concerned. She only wants me to gain 15 to 20 pounds anyway so I hope Im on the right track. I am not eating as much as I used to, mainly because I just get full quicker and stop so my stomach doesn't get upset. I don't ever feel hungry and when I do I eat so I am definitely not starving myself! Still not craving chocolate, sweets or salty stuff really, which is different than pre-pregnancy! The baby's heartbeat dropped a little since last time. It was only 157 today. Probably sleeping like his momma loves to do!

I am dreading the weekend because I have to get the Christmas trees put away and all Christmas decorations stored. What a big task! Michael is going to be at his dad's so I should be able to start and complete pretty quickly. I want to do some scrapping too! Here is a picture I found recently from when I was pregnant with Michael. I was so big! Hope not to get that big again! :)

  1. You look so beautiful and SO young!! I never got to see you pregnant with Michael, so I'm looking forward to this little one - Sawyer, right?
I think you're doing it right - eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. That's actually the basics behind my diet! I used to eat because it was time to, and I would eat because I liked the taste or because my plate was still full - now I stop if I'm full! It seems pretty basic, but emotional eaters have a hard time with the basics.
I gained 55 pounds when I was pregnant with Kara - I ate VERY often and lots of sweets, junk, and the healthy stuff. Well, I lost 35 pounds just giving birth, so I only had 20 pounds to lose. My best friend gained only 35 pounds, lost 15 pounds giving birth and still had 20 pounds to lose just like me. Whatever - being pregnant WRECKS your body and it'll never be the same again. But it's all worth it for that precious little one. Good job keeping you and the baby healthy!

  2. I forgot about this picture! You saw the one on my blog where Dad and I did this same pose when I was pregnant with you, didn't you? Good job on the 5 lbs! I actually lost weight with everyone but you. I gained 40 lbs with you. I only gained 11 lbs with the others. Probably being active with raising children helped! And the fact that 10 or almost 10 lbs of the weight I gained with the last 3 were baby lbs! Glad you are feeling good! Told your dad today that I would need to start looking for baby clothes pretty soon! Love you!
