Cold, Warm, Cold is sure to bring sickness

And Michael was indeed sick today. He woke up with a fever so I decided to keep him home; partly because of his fever and coughing, but mostly because I just have not slept well in about a week and a half so I was soooo tired. I needed a day at home to lay around in my yoga pants on the couch and work. And that's what Michael and I did all day, in different positions but none the less all day on the couch, watching cartoons and taped American Idol shows, me working on my laptop and him on his. By this evening, his fever was long gone but his cough is still lingering. Then of course around bed time the fever is back. Hopefully he will sleep well and be ready for school in the morning.

Because I was home all day, I put a roast in the crockpot for dinner. It was one of the best I have ever made. It was just a small roast since we don't have many mouths to feed and I don't really LOVE leftovers. I cut up some potato chunks on top and peeled some carrots, put a can of cream of mushroom soup with almost a can of water on top of all of that and some spices. It cooked on high for about 6 hours and was so good. The soup/water mixture thickened up so nicely and made a wonderful gravy. Normally when I fix a roast (once every two months maybe) I put soup in it but basically fill the crockpot with water and it is always sooo runny. So this time I actually thought about (with the help of my DH) the heat in the crockpot cooking the potatoes and carrots and used less water! Marvelous!

That's about all for today. I took a shower tonight and realized that shaving is getting very difficult so eventually hubs will have to take that over. I used some of Michael's Nutcracker Sweet body wash that I got on sale at the B&BW outlet for $.90. He loves body wash vs. soap so I buy him some whenever I come across it. Fortunately right now he doesn't care to smell like nutcracker sweet. Anyway it smells so yummy and the gingerbread lotion that goes with it (that I got for $1.00) smells so good too! Cant really wear it out but in the house it is great and my legs are super dry this winter!

OK, enough rambling...its bedtime!

Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down!

What happened to the beautiful weather that I was so teased by the last two weeks? Today it was so cold and yucky; light drizzle all day and just all around yucky! I heard the Karen Carpenter song title Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down on the way to the office this morning and decided to listen to her music on my phone today. Her genre brought nothing but slow, kinda depressing songs so that probably prolonged my day!

I did try my Honey Bunches of Oats - Just Bunches cereal this morning! It was sooooo good! One of my petpeeves is soggy cereal. I will eat 1/4 cup of cereal four times if I know it will get soggy before I get done! But I was able to eat all of my cereal and it was still crunchy at the end! That started my morning wonderful! Such small things! :)

Michael was supposed to start soccer practice tonight but because of the weather it was cancelled. I can't say I am too upset because he came home from his dad's yesterday with a yucky cough that has turned into wheezing when he breathes tonight. He has been super healthy this year so I guess it is my turn to have a sick kid! I just hope he gets over it soon so I don't get it! I know, selfish, but honest! He didn't let it slow him down this evening and now he is taking a hot shower to hopefully clear his head a little.

Dinner tonight was just not fulfilling to me. Do you ever feel that way. It was food and I had plenty to eat so that I was full but it just didn't hit the spot and I have been hungry ever since. I hate that!

After dinner, we washed the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen, reviewed Michael's homework and graded papers and now I am ready for bed.

My hubby was a turd last night but kissed me on my neck this morning before he left...so maybe...well you know! :) I miss talking to girls! Ladies I should say! I am surrounded by guys all day at the office, then come home to my wonderful hubby and dear son, and I just wish I had a group of girls to act girly with about once a week! I had such a great time at breakfast with Connie and Aunt Shirley this past weekend and it made me really miss female bonding time! People I can tell my "kiss on the neck" stories too! :)

Love you guys!

Sunday Sunday

God was preparing us for parenting a little baby last night. Apparently the dogs got into something, not sure what, but at about 12:45 Crash woke me up vomiting. I turned on the light and there were three huge piles of vomit on the bedroom floor (fortunately hardwood). From then til about 4 we were up several times with both dogs vomiting and diahrea. It was sooooo gross! Thank God for my hubby with a stomach of iron. I have never seen him gag when he has had to clean up dog messes, my messes or Michael's messes but he was during this! Today the dogs were fine tho, so I am not sure what it was.

I tried grocery shopping with coupons this afternoon and all I have to say is, "Mom, how did you do it?" It was soooo much work! And took probably 2xs as long! But with the instore deals at Kroger plus coupons our $218 bill dropped to $130 so I guess it was worth it....maybe. There has to be an easier way tho!

Now I am ready for a new work week, sitting in bed eating Carmel flavored ice cream with little chunks of chocolate, a cut up banana, and an extra squirt of carmel. Wonder if Ill sleep tonight! :) Love ya!

Crazy week!

Its been a crazy week but thank the Lord we made it through safely! No Michael this weekend so Terry and I ran around last night and today. It was so pretty last night I suggested we go play 9 holes (well Terry play and I drive the golf cart)!

It was fun! Terry got within 3 feet of a hole in one, which was super exciting!

My first shot of the season, and probably last, is this one. I chipped in from about 25 ft away from the hole. It was hilarious. I just took a practice swing and then hit and it rolled right in!

And this one is my fav! I told Terry he had to get a shot of his prego caddy! He did such a great job, I love this pic! And for 26 weeks, I look huge! Must be the tight shirt! I dont care I still love it!!

Today, I went to breakfast Connie and Aunt Shirley. After that Terry and I met his brother at a gun show, then we ate lunch, went to the Weekend Outlet store, came home for a quick nap and went back out to meet some friends to bowl.

CHurch tomorrow and cleaning since I did none today or last night. Grocery shopping too! Soccer starts for Michael this week and baseball practice starts next week I believe so schedules will be picking up soon! For now, to bed!!

Long time, no talk!

Been a while since I have been on here. It seems I have been trying to concentrate on Michael and his grades/attitude, trying to keep the house more organized, super busy at the office and getting outside since it has been nicer! I can't wait until it is warm and sunny! This post is going to be mostly pictures.

24.5 weeks prego

With Michael. We need to work on this pose but I do like it!

25.5 weeks prego (today)

All of the chics on the baby sites are taking pictures of their belly with no shirt so I decided to try it today....GROSS! You can obviously still see my stretch marks from Michael!

24 weeks!!

Had my appt today! I was confident that I had gained extra weight! Like 10 lbs I was expecting. And I was expecting that I would get a little talking to from my dr because of the gain. And on top of that I had a lunch meeting so I had a full lunch right before my appt.

So we went to the appt and had the ultrasound first off. It was only 2D this time but still amazing. I will post the pics tomorrow after I scan them. It was amazing, we could see all of his ribs, his amazing spine and the skin over his spine, and yup....he still has a penis! So he is definitely a boy and all of our green, brown and blue clothes will not go to waste. He has chubby cheeks, as much as you can tell on the screen, and not much of a chin. He was just perfect! Oh, and his head is shaped nice and oval. He is sitting upright so in the wrong position right now but tons of time to flop around! It is just so amazing what you can see on the ultrasound. I wish I could see him each month! He is in the 51% bracket, but the solographer said most babies are about the same size up until the 24-25 week mark and this is when they start filling out and getting larger! He also said that when the baby is in the womb, he has his mother's dominant traits because he is connected to us, getting all of our nutrients and basically living off of us. It isn't until he is born and completely disconnects with his original lifeline that he is able to take the dominant gene in his life. So just because my hubby is a big man, doesn't mean I am going to have a big baby. And with my keeping my weight down, it is possible that he won't be as big as Michael was!

So anyway, after that I did the normal pee in a cup and then got weighed....only gained 1.5 lbs! I let out a woohoo! I was so surprised! Terry just chuckled at me but he doesn't realize exactly how big I was when I was prego with Michael! And I want to slip right into shape after Sawyer is born! The rest of the appt was quick. Good heartbeat...146...everything looks great with my not having any pains, bleeding, etc. So it was a quick appt and the next one is March 31! It was such a good appt that I told Terry we needed to go out to dinner right after the appt! So we did! :)

Michael keeps mentioning about labor and he's not looking forward to me having to go into labor. I am not sure who mentioned it to him but he has been talking about it, not in detail, but mentioning it. I haven't really explained anything to him yet but I will sometime! Other than that, he is still really excited about the baby! Thank the Lord for my family and my healthy little man that is coming! I am soooo glad it is working out this way!

No ultrasound today!

I worked from home today because of my doctor appts. We went to the appt and they didn't have me on the schedule for today even though the girl that scheduled the appt last month wrote the 1st on my card and that's what we put in our phones. OF course she wasn't there today....so the appt they have in their computer is on March 3. Fortunately I don't have to wait weeks, just a day or two! And I'm so tired I can't write anything else! Going to bed!
