And Michael was indeed sick today. He woke up with a fever so I decided to keep him home; partly because of his fever and coughing, but mostly because I just have not slept well in about a week and a half so I was soooo tired. I needed a day at home to lay around in my yoga pants on the couch and work. And that's what Michael and I did all day, in different positions but none the less all day on the couch, watching cartoons and taped American Idol shows, me working on my laptop and him on his. By this evening, his fever was long gone but his cough is still lingering. Then of course around bed time the fever is back. Hopefully he will sleep well and be ready for school in the morning.
Because I was home all day, I put a roast in the crockpot for dinner. It was one of the best I have ever made. It was just a small roast since we don't have many mouths to feed and I don't really LOVE leftovers. I cut up some potato chunks on top and peeled some carrots, put a can of cream of mushroom soup with almost a can of water on top of all of that and some spices. It cooked on high for about 6 hours and was so good. The soup/water mixture thickened up so nicely and made a wonderful gravy. Normally when I fix a roast (once every two months maybe) I put soup in it but basically fill the crockpot with water and it is always sooo runny. So this time I actually thought about (with the help of my DH) the heat in the crockpot cooking the potatoes and carrots and used less water! Marvelous!
That's about all for today. I took a shower tonight and realized that shaving is getting very difficult so eventually hubs will have to take that over. I used some of Michael's Nutcracker Sweet body wash that I got on sale at the B&BW outlet for $.90. He loves body wash vs. soap so I buy him some whenever I come across it. Fortunately right now he doesn't care to smell like nutcracker sweet. Anyway it smells so yummy and the gingerbread lotion that goes with it (that I got for $1.00) smells so good too! Cant really wear it out but in the house it is great and my legs are super dry this winter!
OK, enough rambling...its bedtime!

I've never put cream of mushroom in my roast....I'll have to try that next time!
ReplyDeleteSorry you guys aren't feeling well. I think we're all in the same boat! Probably what you said: cold, warm, cold, warm. It's worth it to me to be spring instead of winter. :-)
ReplyDeleteDH will actually shave your legs? Let me rephrase that.....you would actually trust DH to shave your legs??!! No way!
ReplyDeleteCream of mushroom soup makes a delicious addition to any meat!
I have never seen a sale like that at B&BW before!
Hope Michael feels better!
